MY NEW FAVORITE TOY!

LIVING IN SPAIN
Here are two of the illustrations I did for a book about living in Spain.... I particularly like the way I have depicted the Spanish estate agent...... very realistic, not at all stereotypical!!!!!!!

THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA
This is an illustration I did for a competition to illustrate one of the stories of Hans Christian Anderson. I chose the princess and the pea. I wanted the perspective to be a bit squiffy to give a sense of the height of the mattress and the precariousness of them. I quite like the 'Japanese' vibe that I gave the Princess!!!!

Glencullen....

I took some photos whilst walking my dog near my house today. Being the cheerful person I am I found myself in the local derelict church and cemetry! I was completely alone but it was a lovely autumn day and very peaceful, a good place to clear your head. I also took some fotos of my neighbours, the sheep. The song is one of my favorites at the moment and I thought it suited the tone of the photos. It is called La Collina dei ciliegi by Lucio Battista.

TIME TO GET SERIOUS!




I have decided enough messing around.... it's time to get serious so I am clearing up my spare/junk room and making it into a super sleek studio where I can organize myself in an atmosphere conducive to creativity!!!!! I have consulted Feng shui specialists and know where to put all my chakras (actually I haven't and wot's a chakra? can you buy one in Lidl on offer???) Anyway my mission for this coming week is to completely organize everything and get rid of all my junk!!!!! I have decided to paint one of the walls but can't decide on blue, pink or green....I'll get back to that one!!

MY NEW BLOG!!
I might have said before..... but at the risk of repeating myself, I am going to Sardinia in August and I have decided to create a different blog which I will update when I am there. I can record how well (!!!!) I am learning Italian, post boring holiday photos (and stop boring you on here!!!) and hopeully if I get bored/lonely, it will give me something to do! The title is Month of Sundays

ARIES

This is the first image for some greeting cards representing the 12 zodiac signs...... I don't know why I started with Aries!

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......... I am going to Olbia in Sardinia for the whole of Agosto!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to learn to speak Italian and to do lots and lots of sketching. I will be completely on my own...FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!!! hence the YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. If I see anyone I recognize, I will look the other way and pretend not to notice!!!!!!!

Anyway next week I am starting to draw again after being very lazy for months! Let's see what comes out of it!!!

CIAOOOOOOOOOOOO

It was New Years Eve 1 hour, 36 minutes ago......I am snowed in in my house in the Dublin mountains and couldn't get the car out so spent a very solitary evening. I am wondering where I should go next, what I should do next. I am at a crossroads in more than one sense and have no clues or map to show me where to turn......... there does not seem to be any logical progression to what has gone before and no way of turning back. I guess that is called life. 2010 is wide open to me to make of it what I will, I hope this year I will make something of substance and cease to chase shadows. Happy New Year to anyone who is listening!
